Job Summary: The Avionics Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of the electronic and electrical systems on aircraft. This role requires in-depth knowledge of avionics systems, the ability to interpret electrical and electronic schematics, and a strong attention to detail to ensure the safety and compliance of the systems.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on avionics equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Install and test avionics systems, including communication, navigation, surveillance, and flight management systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repair:
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions in avionics systems using testing and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace defective components and verify proper operation after the intervention.
- Testing and Validation:
- Conduct functional tests and performance trials of avionics systems to verify compliance with specifications.
- Document test results and inspections, making necessary adjustments.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep maintenance and repair records up to date for aircraft.
- Write detailed technical reports outlining work performed, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to aviation industry standards and regulations, including EASA, FAA, or other regulatory bodies’ requirements.
- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Training and Skill Development:
- Stay updated on new technologies and developments in avionics systems.
- Participate in continuous training to improve technical skills.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in avionics, electronics, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a similar role within the aviation industry.
- In-depth knowledge of modern avionics systems and associated technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
- Proficiency in using avionics testing and diagnostic tools.
- Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Knowledge of aviation safety standards and regulations.
Working Conditions:
