We are currently recruiting for Crew Chiefs (AME) to be based in one of four new operating bases in British Columbia (Vancouver, Kamloops, Prince Rupert, and Prince George). The AME Crew Chief is responsible to the Chief Engineer for the completion of the maintenance and repair tasks which are assigned to them.
In this role, you will:
- Supervise and manage a crew of AME’s and apprentices.
- Create task cards and work orders, as well as order parts and consumables for forecasted maintenance in WinAir.
- Monitor consumable levels of base and order required items in WinAir.
- Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair an aircraft’s mechanical or structural systems.
- Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and maintenance activities that were conducted.
- Carefully observe all procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task.
- Be thoroughly familiar with, and put to use, safety procedures and safe work practices.
- Use the appropriate PPE for tasks/jobs.
- Maintain a clean and productive work area.
- Conduct aircraft cleaning duties of interior and exterior (excluding medical biohazards).
- Work efficiently alone and as part of a team.
- Read, understand and adhere to the Safety & Health Policy Statement, Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual, Company Policies and Procedures and the MPM.
- Utilize the company reporting system to report any hazard, incident, or accident.
- Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.
- Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines and the MPM.
- Other duties as assigned.
Profil
The ideal candidate brings:
- Must hold a valid Transport Canada M1 and/or M2 AME license.
- Have experience working on a rotary-wing asset, ideally on Leonardo Helicopters AW-Family aircraft, in particular, the AW169.
- Have demonstrated experience working on WinAir or other similar maintenance programs.
- Have good organizational skills.
- Have experience leading a Crew
- Is proficient in English, written and spoken.
- Have the physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods.
- Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
- Have physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces.
- The ability and willingness to undertake shift work.
- Is comfortable working at height
- You are eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Have the right to work in Canada and/or have or can obtain a Canadian passport.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
